Country Manager, China

Nathan James is looking to expand our international team. We are looking for a Country Manager (CM’s) to manage our Quality, R&D team members, and work closely with the International Production Division Owner to ensure the best-in-class user experiences.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our global team manages production from start to finish. You will be an essential piece of the daily operations as you identify opportunities to create efficiencies for your team. Participating in strategy development and implementing them as needed. You will have the opportunity to build and lead a talented production team that includes Quality and Research & Development. You will work collaboratively with the Product Development team to ensure the best-in-class product experience; by verifying the quality, construction, pricing and assembly times are meeting Nathan James standards. While working in tandem with our Production Scheduler Lead, you will collaborate on vendors performance to ensure that capacity, quality, productivity, and delivery are at the highest level of effectiveness. This managerial role focuses on building and managing a strong international team while reporting to our International Division Owner. 

Once up to speed, our Country Managers will split their time working on high-impact projects to create production efficiencies and activities that enhance the product experience. They will also cross-train staff members, hire new talent, and onboard new team members, support performance reviews, and work schedule management. 

The remainder of your time will be troubleshooting day-to-day concerns, coaching the team, leading our quality control and quality assurance teams. Provide insight on product improvement plans, review, and provide improvements on all inspections, keep up to date with new product innovations, review, audit, and improve supplier corrective action reports. With the engineering background, our CM’s also participate in auditing our quality control mechanisms, review negative product interactions, and identify the need for improvements. The CM’s will oversee the entire product development phase and ensure all products meet or exceed our standards. The CM’s will troubleshoot and communicate technical callouts during the sample development stage to the international product development team related to; construction and overall quality performance to approve our sample inspection reports.

ABOUT YOU:

You have a creative approach to problem-solving and have exemplary time management skills. You can handle multiple tasks daily. You are curious about how things are being managed, and your fresh eyes will be an asset in implementing new systems. You have an engineering background, a team leader with the skills to rally the troops. You are well rounded in vendor relationships, source new materials, surface up innovations in manufacturing and have a deep understanding of quality control.  

We would like to see a minimum of three years' experience in similar finished consumer goods roles. You may have a degree, or you might not. That's not what we're looking for. We care about what you can do and how you do it.

Key Skills:

  • You have 3+ years of experience leading and managing a team of QC and R&D.
  • You have an engineering background.
  • You have good communication skills. Verbal and written competency in Chinese & English. Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • You are a leader in QC, QA, and Compliance
  • You are an expert in open-order management, ensuring on-time delivery, acting as a service to our operations team.
  • You are confident in your decision making and have excellent leadership skills.
  • You are a practical planner with exceptional organizational and time management skills
