Nathan James is looking for a Production Manager to lead their first in-house factory. You will be responsible to help us deliver on our mission of high-end design and quality products at affordable prices. You will be a key player in helping us double the business over the next five years.
ABOUT THE ROLE:

This Production Manager role reports to the Director of Manufacturing at Nathan James. This role will be responsible for helping set up the factory, overseeing all aspects of production including: recruiting supervisors and workers, planning the schedule, managing the processes to ensure great quality.
This role will make an immediate impact by helping us set up our factory in May 2026, and have production before the end of the year. The factory will be set up to handle 50 containers per month of case goods and upholstery furniture. The goal is to ramp up the factory to be at capacity (50 containers/month) in 2028. This factory will always have consistent demand as it’s producing for the Nathan James furniture brand only. The brand has a lot more container demand than the in-house factory capacity. Eventually, this Production Manager role will expand as we open a bigger second factory that will be set up for 150 containers per month capacity.
ABOUT YOU:
We’re looking for someone with an operations and analytical mindset who has extensive experience managing a factory’s production. You must have a deep understanding of: milling, cutting, gluing, sanding, edge banding, paint finishing, upholstery and packaging. You have at least 5 years of experience of managing a factory in Vietnam. You’re a big proponent of automated manufacturing. You are deeply analytical, data-driven, and comfortable analyzing data to make decisions. You are proactive in your process and learn quickly, leveraging both software and documentation. On a granular level we’re looking for:
- Min 10 years of experience in production at wood furniture factory, 5 years’ experience of management experience.
- Solid experience to plan and manage the factory operation from warehouse, white wood processing, painting and package process.
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude with leadership ability to motivate a team and work collaboratively and effectively across all levels of the organization are required.
- Chinese (spoken), Vietnamese (spoken), English is a bonus.
